Volunteering & Team Building
First Quarter
For the first quarter of 2023, the True North team spent the day volunteering with CARITAS! CARITAS and their volunteers work together to provide effective/permanent solutions and assistance to individuals coping with the crisis of homelessness and/or addiction in the Metro Richmond area. We helped landscape, pull weeds, pick up trash, and clean up the parking lot/grounds of their main facility. It is incredibly fulfilling that we have the opportunity as a team to volunteer with CARITAS and help support their mission.
Second Quarter
For the second quarter of 2023, the True North team had the pleasure to volunteer with Feed More- Meals on Wheels! Feed More employees and volunteers work hard to collect, prepare, and distribute food across Richmond in a daily effort to bring hunger relief to those in need throughout Central Virginia. Today, we had the opportunity to help package these meals and assist with packing them into other volunteers’ cars to be delivered across the city!
Third Quarter
For the third quarter of 2023, the True North team spent the morning volunteering with Ronald McDonald House Charities and worked cheerfully together to prepare a meal for a family in need. RMHC "Share a meal" volunteers purchase food items, gather supplies, and prepare meals at RMHC's kitchen for families who have children that are receiving medical care at local area hospitals. It is their mission to ease the burden families face when caring for a sick child by providing a home-cooked meal, giving them the strength they need to cope and focus better on their child's needs. It was incredibly fulfilling to have the opportunity as a team to help RMHC with their mission.

First Quarter
For the first quarter of the year, Jen planned a very special event for the True North team. We visited Breathwork Worldwide and participated in a breathwork class hosted by its founder, Melissa McLaughlin. Breathwork is known to help with relieving stess and anxiety, boost the immune system, reduce pain, and other many curative properties. We got the opportunity to not only participate in a session, but we learned all about Melissa’s practice, the magic of breathwork, and the history of breathwork around the world. We had an awesome experience, and really enjoyed sharing this special moment together.
Second Quarter
For the second quarter of 2023, Cathy planned a Goat Soap Felting Workshop for the True North team at Pactamere Farm! We learned how to apply pure Alpaca fibers to Goat's milk soap, and were walked through the wet felting process. After that, we learned how to needle felt designs into our soap with a special felting needle. In addition to felting soap, we also had the pleasure of interacting with the goats and other animals around the farm! Overall, we had lots of laughs and really enjoyed completing this craft together as a team.
Third Quarter
For the third quarter of 2023, the True North team had an ~unbeleafably~ fun time visiting the Richmond PlantHouse, where we participated in a DIY terrarium building activity! We got to choose our terrariums, choose our plants from the PlantHouse's air plant or succulent plant selection, and use their accessories to create our own beautiful terrariums. We had a great time building our terrariums, and we finished off our day with a fantastic lunch at Lunch or Supper! We truly enjoy exploring our community together!
